Class of 2008.

MY STORY. I started C3 College in 2006. I was straight out of high school when I began my three year course in Songwriting. I had never really written a song before but it was something I knew I wanted to do, and C3 College was the right place for me to learn. I started to learn about being a songwriter and the necessary skills that I needed to create a song but it wasn’t until I was pushed to my absolute limits in my abilities that I had to learn more important skills that would help me both sustain and succeed in the creative life.

College was the beginning of my journey for forming a foundation that I still stand on. I had to learn that what I do with my life and creativity is not just for a season, college was only the beginning, and that started 13 years ago. It’s not a fast process. It’s slow and it’s a lot of hard work, but I decided to honour the gifts I have and decide to be creative for the rest of my life. I’ve walked through many different seasons in all extremes, but through it all no matter the outcomes I have had to face, I will always make music. God gave us our gifts for our own enjoyment too, and ‘success’ can’t be the only thing that keeps us going.

I am currently living in London with my husband Phil, and I know if I didn’t go to college – I wouldn’t be here now. It was in college when I realised how important it was for me personally to immerse myself in the music industry. Over the years I have seen the most amazing things happen by making the decision to move across the other side of the world and pursue a career in music.

Currently I am working on some projects with Jess Ellen Henderson (my writing partner and best friend) for TV as well as my next release. Both Phil and myself are involved in our church C3 Fulham, which we love and where I am lucky enough to sing most weeks.

BIO. Originally from Sydney, Australia but relocating to London in 2012 for music, Lucy has been described as ‘a voice that could melt the heart of the stoniest disposition’ and her sound as ‘chilling, mournful and unbearable beautiful’ by Clash Magazine. Lucy is an established songwriter, singer and performer residing in the UK and has been writing and releasing music since she arrived.

Lucy has toured with major artists including Jamie Cullum & Matt Corby and has been asked to perform at many high profile events around London which includes invitations from The Mayor of London, The Australian embassy, Qantas and many events for the Royal Family including an invite from Her Majesty The Queen, where Lucy performed an original song at Buckingham Palace for the Commonwealth Games Baton Relay.

Lucy’s latest work has been featured and recognised over many of the UK’s most prestigious websites, blogs and brands such as Q Magazine, The Independent, The Metro, The Line of Best Fit, The 405, Wonderland, Barbour International and STA Travel, as well as being asked to perform Live on TV. Lucy’s music has been featured on some of Spotify’s largest playlists such as New Music Friday Worldwide, New Music Friday UK and Sweden and many more which is a huge achievement for an independent artist.

Shooting her last music video in New York, Lucy signed a distribution deal with a New York based label. Working with many writers recently and over the years both in the US and the UK such as Larzz Principato (Dua Lipa ‘IDGAF’) and Amy Wadge (Co-writer of ‘Thinking Out Loud’ by Ed Sheeran which won Grammy for Song of the year) Lucy’s sound continues to establish itself. Her recent album ‘Flashback Romance’ was created completely by Lucy and Jess Ellen Henderson, in their home studios over the course of a year, with one song produced by Australian producer Jordi White.

Currently Lucy continues and chooses to remain an independent artist whilst she is working on new projects in the UK for Television, as well as her next release.
